WELLNESS

The wellness department is insstrumental in the overall support of its exercise programs for the YMCA members.  With experienced staff, you will stay motivated, giving you the best possible chance to reach your exercise goals.

PERSONAL TRAINING

The personal training department will sit down with you to discuss your goals and design a program tailored to meet those goals and needs. You will also receive an orientation on all fitness equipment for proper use and for your own personal safety.

SUMMER DAY CAMP

Our Summer Day Camp is designed for elementary and middle school youth. We offer a variety of camps, including Basketball, Teen Scene/Summer of Service, Splash Splash, Extreme Cheerleading, Junior Adventure Camp, and more. Our caring and highly trained staff will ensure a nurturing and healthy environment for your child.

YOUTH PROGRAMS

We offer a wide variety of youth programs. Our programs include Basketball, Soccer, T-Ball, Fencing, Computer Classes, Senior Programs, Pee Wee Sports, Baseball Clinics, and much more. Do not miss out on our newest activity, Friday Night Flicks. Drop your children off for dinner and a movie, while you enjoy the night.

We also offer Saturday programs such as Mommy and Me, a special activity workshop in which mothers interact with their children through the arts of jewelry making, mosaic creation, and other crafts.

OLDER ADULTS

Sassy offers a variety of activities including social events, day trips, health workshops, fitness programs, and classes. Please contact us for details.

CHILD WATCH

Parents are welcome to bring their child to Child Watch while they work out or enjoy the many activities at YMCA Potomac Overlook. The Child Watch facility is staffed with loving individuals who will care for and play with your child. We offer games, free play, story time, and good fun.

Children may attend Child Watch
for a maximum of two hours per day.

4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

for children ages
3 months to 5 years

Just Having Fun
for children
ages 6 - 12

  • All YMCA members are entitled to two hours of Child Watch per day.
  • We provide care for children ages 3 months to 12 years only.
  • We have two Child Watch areas for children:
    Child Watch 1 for children ages 3 months to 5 years
    Just Having Fun for children ages 6 - 12 years old
  • Ratios are one staff member to every ten children
  • We will accept a total of two infants at once (under 17 months of age).
  • We accept all children on a first come, first served basis.
  • A child may visit Child Watch once per day.
  • Phone reservations are encouraged to ensure space availability.

During peak hours, a wait list may occur.

ALL YMCA PRIVILEGES WILL BE REVOKED
IF YOU LEAVE THE PREMISES
WHILE YOUR CHILD IS IN CHILD WATCH.

JUST HAVING FUN

Children ages of 6-12 will enjoy themselves in the Just Having Fun program. YMCA staff and volunteers will supervise games, crafts, and special activities designed to engage children in wholesome, action-oriented activities that are especially designed for them. Activities will be posted for children and parents to see what the Just Having Fun is to be for the day and each day will be different. Children must remain with the Just Having Fun staff until parents check them out.

WHILE YOUR CHILD IS IN JUST HAVING FUN.
